William C. Dawson (Billy) went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2011. Billy would have been 68 on April 21. He was predeceased by his parents Chester and Georgie Dawson, and is survived by his wife June Gough Dawson; his brother Douglas (Linda); sisters Ann Thomas and Lillian Atkins (Ray). Other family members are Shirley Gough, David (Betty) Gough, Paul (Christine) Gough, Bonnie (Larry) Johnson, Buck (Rhonda) Gough, Judy (Denny) Smith, Buster (Donna) Gough; many niece, nephews, and aunts Beulah Williams and Alice Easter. Billy was a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church. He retired from VDOT after 34 years, and was also employed with Timmons Group for 10 years. The family will receive friends at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday April 18. A church service will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19th, at Salem UMC, with interment to follow at Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Gideons, P.O.
