William Gordon Estes, Sr., age 99, of Rice, Va. went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2019.  He is preceded in death by his first wife; Lucille Gills Estes, and is survived by his wife; Cheryl; sons; William Gordon Estes, Jr. (Sandi), of Lynchburg, Auburn F. Estes(Lynne) of Rice, Howard Miles Estes (Lynn) of Farmville, Tommy Joe Estes (Teresa) of Farmville, and Michael Locke (Pam) of Keysville, ten grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Funeral services 1PM on Thursday April 4, 2019 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church  25450 E. Saylers Creek Road in Jetersville,  Va., with burial with military honors in the church cemetery.  Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia from 6-8PM on Wednesday.
