William Kenneth Shrum of Amelia County, VA passed away at age 97 on Thursday, August 10, 2023.  Born in North Carolina on October 26, 1925, Kenneth moved to Amelia County with his sister Helen and parents William and Maude Shrum.

Kenneth served in the US Army during World War II in both the European and Pacific

Theaters.  He received a Purple Heart.

A knowledgable collector, he maintained a shop in Powhatan, VA called Just Friends

where he reupholstered furniture and sold antiques.

His parents and his sister Helen S. Brown predeceased him.  He is survived by nephews Charley C. Brown III and Douglas Brown (Wanda), great nieces Hillary Brown Seal (Clint) and Erika Brown (Brittany), great nephew Adam Brown, and great grand nieces Caitlin Brock (Michael) and Allison Brown.
