William A. Terry, age 81, of Amelia went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2025. He is survived by his wife Virginia Bailey Terry; sons William A. Terry Jr. of Petersburg, Robert O. Terry of Nottoway, and Melvin R. Terry of Amelia; his daughter Marsha Moates of Florida; sisters Ivy Piper of New York, and Barbara Brooks of Chesterfield; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Otis Terry and Josephine Beasley Terry, and his sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Kathy Terry. Mr. Terry retired from Dupont as a machine operator and was a faithful member of the Church of God of Amelia where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 20, 2025 with burial following in the church cemetery. Visiting will be at the Church of God, 18501 Pridesville Road in Amelia from 12 noon to 2:00 pm., immediately prior to the service.
