Ann was a wonderful example of a passing era of genteel women.....
Who are also hard working and most devoted to family and friends. Her presence will be greatly missed.

For the Courter family, I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I lift up to heaven a Prayer of Thanksgiving for Ann’s Life.
There’s a special place in all of our hearts for our mothers, just like there’s a special place in every mother’s heart for her children. To lose your mom is to lose a very close and loyal friend who has known and loved you your entire life. I know you and family will continue to carry her memory in that special place in your hearts. God gives us the gift of mothers to provide us nurturing, comfort, and support. God can still provide that for you all now, but he’ll have to do it in a different way, bringing your family all closer together. I’ll be praying for you to have comfort and support from God. During this heartbreaking time, for all who are suffering, Tenderly, may God's love heal your sorrow. Gently, may the prayers of friends ease your hurting, Softly may God’s peace replace your heartache with warm and loving memories. Please accept my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy

Dear Doris,
I am Ann's daughter, Liz. Until today, I did not realize there were online condolences left for us. I wish I had written sooner. I was so touched by what you wrote. I have never read anything so heartfelt, kind and encouraging. It really meant a lot to me to read your amazing note. Thanks for sharing your insight. And I really appreciate your prayers for us. I have already thought that while it is through sadness, our family has already become closer. Sincerely, Liz Courtere

So sorry for your loss. I took horse back riding lessons from Mrs. Courter back in the 1960's to 70's and had so much fun that I still remember and mention it today. I was from Crewe, Virginia, and remember Liz riding with us. Mrs. Courter (as we called her) was a special lady and I pray your memories and love of her will be a comfort in your time of grief.

Dear Sandy,
I appreciate your note so much. It is great to hear that Mom enriched your life with horses way back when. I feel so fortunate that she gave me the "horse bug" at an early age and I have been teaching riding at Hollins University for 38 years.
