Charles B. Goodman, Jr.

Charles B. Goodman, Jr., 70, peacefully entered the arms of his Savior in his home on November 22, 2022.  Formerly of Amelia, VA, currently of Moseley, VA, Charles was a loving father and husband who never missed his children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events.  He loved the beach, traveling with his wife and classic rock.  He was a member of Faith Christian Church.  He was a legend in the commercial vehicle community helping lead Goodman Truck & Tractor for over 40 years and Goodman Specialized Vehicles since its beginning in 2010.  He made his employees and customers feel like family, and always did his best to care for their needs as if they were his own.

Charles is a 1970 graduate of Amelia Academy and graduated in 1974 from The College of William & Mary with a B.A. in Business where he was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity.  Charles brought great insight to the various committees he served in over his long career including the Navistar Service Warranty Advisory Committee, Navistar SRC Committee, the Automotive Service Excellence Committee, and the NADA.  Charles served as the President of the Amelia Academy Board of Directors for a time.

Charles is survived by his wife, Joanne McKay Goodman, brother, Clem Goodman (Robin) and sister, Ann Burke (Mike).  He is also survived by 4 children, 3 biological and 1 son who came into our family in his teens – Matt Goodman (Katie), Allie Rodriguez-Goodman (Lupe), John Goodman (Lacey), and Wil Fameni (Sydney).  He is survived by five grandchildren – McKay, Sydney, Cole, Charlie and Robby, as well as many extended family.  Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Buck” Goodman Sr. & Nancy Blanton Goodman.

The Goodman family would like to welcome you to the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home on Sunday, November 27 from 6-8pm.  A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday December 18, 2022 at the Amelia Academy.   In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to either Amelia Academy or Crater Community Hospice.
