Ernest “Butch” Gravley, III, age 73 of Amelia, passed away on April 18, 2021. A Vietnam Veteran who served in the Air Force, his love for bowling would lead him all across the nation he had defended. Once he moved to Amelia he worked for Wright’s Ready Mix and before that he worked in the dry wall business for D. M. Boman, Inc. of Baltimore Md. Ernest was preceded in death by his mother Nellie Mae Poole Gravley, and his companion Ginny Metz. He is survived by his father, Ernest B. Gravley, Jr. and son Shaun Michael Gravley, both of Dundak, MD; his brother Richard Gravley (Manda), and cousins William Ray Sexton and Anita Farnsworth, all of Amelia, two nieces Joann Mix, Amy Neal and two great nieces and numerous cousins. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 21, at Amelia Presbyterian Cemetery. Viewing will precede the service from 11-12:15 at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia.
