Grace Pressel Wunderlich, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, departed this world on July 2, 2019, to be with our Lord. Grace was born to Heinrich and Grace Jarck in Brooklyn, N. Y. on May 19, 1931, and soon moved to Amelia County, Va, where she grew up on a tobacco farm. She left Amelia in 1950 when she married her first husband, Sewell Ross Pressel Jr., who died in June 1984. Together they raised six children. Grace traveled the United States and the world for 20 years with Ross who retired from the United States Air Force. Grace returned to Amelia in 1986 with her second husband Alfred Wunderlich. Grace loved her church, family, friends, and pets. Grace ran an in-home day care in Amelia for 20 years and loved all the children she cared for in her later years. Grace enjoyed playing bingo and walking with her friends at the Amelia County Recreation Center. Grace preceded in death by husbands Sewell Ross Pressel, Jr. and Alfred W. Wunderlich and by brother Henry Jarck. Grace is survived by her brother Teddy Jarck (Shelby) and sister-in-law Frances Jarck and by six children, four daughters-in-law and two step-children; Oscar Pressel (Bernadette), Thomas Pressel (Leah), Ruby Thurston, John Pressel (Victoria), Margaret Bailey, Paul Pressel(Marie), Marvin Wunderlich and Caroline Wunderlich Schulz. Grace also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services and a Celebration of Life will be held 12:30PM on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 16201 Eggleston St. in Amelia with burial following the Virginia Veterans Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited for luncheon at the church following the funeral. Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home 16409 Court St. in Amelia from 6-8PM on Monday.
