James Dawson, 35, passed away on November 15, 2025, in Amelia, VA. James Dawson was born on January 26, 1990 in Midlothian, VA, to James Dawson and Teresa Dawson.James graduated from attended Amelia County Public Schools. He started his career as a Heavy equipment operator and went on to work for 17 years.  James was engaged to Samantha Proffitt. The couple had 2 children, Lorelai (deceased) and Malcolm Dawson. James cared for Sam's son, Brycen like his own as well. James was best known for baseball, hunting and four-wheeling. James is survived by James Dawson - father, Jean Dawson- step mother, Hubert Emerson- grandfather, Samantha Proffitt- fiance, Eric Weyant - brother-in-law, Malcolm Dawson - son, Brycen Volpi - step son, Hayden Weyant - niece, Dawson Weyant - nephew and many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. James is preceded in death by Teresa Dawson - mother, Amber Weyant - sister, Lorelai Dawson - daughter The service for Mr. James Dawson will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at Union Baptist Church. Visitation: Thursday, at 10:00 AM at Union Baptist Church. Burial: Union Baptist Church, Amelia Court House, VA.  Memorial donations can be made in James's name to American Diabetes Association.
