Jeremiah Hockman Obituary

Jeremiah Hockman, age 37 of Dinwiddie, passed away on August 1, 2021. He was a kind, and loving, son, father, fiancé, and friend to all who knew him. He was strong willed, an advocate for the underdog, and most of all a beautiful human. Survived by his sons Logan and Collin Hockman, daughter Ayla Hockman; father Matthew Hockman and mother Laine Hockman; brother Joe Hockman (Stacy), and sister Erin Hockman; his Fiancé Mason McCaleb; his grandparents Kenneth and Maricel Baker; his nieces McKenzie and Payton Hockman, and soon to be Stepson Byron Morales. 

Jeremiah was a Marine Corporal, serving 4 years, and received the Purple Heart, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (w/Bronze Service Star), and Combat Action Medal (Iraq).  The family will receive friends on Thursday August 5, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 6, 2021 at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia with military honors.
