My brothers and I were saddened to learn of Sonny's passing. When we moved from far southwest Virginia in 1954 to Jetersville, Sonny was one of the first to befriend my family. My brother Curtis and I thought the world of Sonny while we lived there. May the peace that passes All understanding come over the family during this time and the coming days.

Mr. Sanderson was a fine gentleman. He was our mail carrier when we lived on 681 and he was always so kind to us.

My family and I have known Mr. Sanderson and his wife Grace since early 70's, and enjoyed visiting and getting to know them over the years. John was always so nice to me and my family. We all attended church together all those years ago at Trinity Baptist Church. We knew is daughter Susan very well and miss her also. He was a great asset to his community and a wonderful friend to our family. We will greatly miss him. Our deepest sympathy to his wife Grace, and the rest of his family.
