Joseph Perrella Obituary

Joseph Perrella, age 88, passed from this life on May 29, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Anne, brother John Perrella, children Jackie (Joanne) Pedersen, Audrey Maloney, and Andy Perrella, and their spouses Richard, Bill and Diane; grandchildren Richard Anthony Pedersen, Angela Pedersen, Mike Maloney, Johnny Maloney, Stefanie Perrella, and Robin Perrella; great-grandchild Adam Johnston.
Joe was a retired NYC firefighter of 32 years, a career he cherished, and a volunteer Montauk NY firefighter of 10 years. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps, was a member of the Lion’s Club, a lifelong active member of his church and Meals on Wheels volunteer. His love of fishing took him and Anne to Montauk NY after retirement. Joe and Anne moved to VA in 2016 but remained a die-hard NY Giant fan at heart.
Special thanks to Hospice House for their care and compassion in Joe’s final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to NYFF Burn Center in Joe’s memory are greatly appreciated. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday June 7, 2019 at Good Samaritan Catholic Church 13441 Patrick Henry Highway in Amelia with interment following with military honors at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery 10300 Pridesville Rd. in Amelia, Va.
