To the entire Winter Family - my sincerest condolences...my parents were friends with Kyle's mother and father when I was very young growing up in Newburgh, NY. My brothers and I attended NYMA as day students and Kyle and I became classmates. Kyle and I were both members of NYMA Band Company . Kyle was a great friend and classmate to me. I recall there was a total of (8) NYMA cadets in our classes. He especially helped my with Latin class - I really struggled. I have the most cherished memories from NYMA knowing Kyle. He was one of the finest persons I have ever met. Later, my wife would cross paths with his sister at Cornwall Middle school and I had previously met her husband at New Paltz before they were married. My wife and I first met in Poughkeepsie when Matt was on the hockey team. Kyle and I have had a life-long bond through our parents, as childhood classmates and later as adults even though we have not crossed paths for over 40 years - I feel that he and I have so much in common it is amazing. He is one of the greatest individuals I have ever known and will pray for him and his entire family today and always.
My warmest regards to his entire family. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

To the wonderful family of Kyle Winter ....
I had the honor and distinct pleasure of knowing Kyle while both of us were cadets at New York Military Academy. The first thing I remember about Kyle was his smile. He was always headed somewhere at a brisk pace to accomplish something because he was involved in so many activities....quite frankly because he was brilliant and fiercely dedicated to life. However, he always took the time to chat with his buddies and mix it up....and when he did, I can remember his smile and laugh like it was yesterday. Although it's been since the 1980 time frame.... when I saw his picture here, I recalled him immediately ..like it was yesterday. Your husband, dad, and grandfather was a gifted, talented, and wonderful man. He was influential and left a positive mark with everyone he met. He accomplished so much for all of you, for God, and for his country. He is a hero in my eyes; it was an honor to have known him and to be his friend while at NYMA. I salute you, Kyle. Thank you for your service and for blessing us with your smile, your intellect, and your beautiful family that will carry on your legacy for generations to come. Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. God Bless, and please contact me should need anything going forward.
