Neftali Colon, age 74, of Amelia, Va., passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 16, 2020 at home. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born September 27, 1945 in Utado Puerto Rico. He was the son of the late Eduvigis Lucindo and Flores Colon. Neftali was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served in the United States Army for 22 years. Survivors include his wife of 38 years Sue of Amelia, Va., a daughter, Gale of Lampasas Texas, two sisters, Carmen Colon of Puerto Rico, Haydee Rios of Newark New Jersey, two brothers, Edgar Roman of Utah, and Gilbert Roman of Arizona, also several nieces and nephews. Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home of Amelia. Mr. Colon will be laid to rest privately at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia on Wednesday May 20, 2020.
