Raymond Wesley McCourt

Raymond Wesley McCourt, age 88 of Chesterfield, passed away on August 17, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Railey McCourt; children Leslie E. McCourt-Nussman, Alisa E. McCourt Willis (Jeffrey D. Willis), Anthony J. McCourt (Cathy L. Earl), Deborah M. McCourt (Peter Svendsen), and Raymond W. McCourt Jr.; grandchildren Samuel L. Nussman V (Sara Steven), Alisa E. Nussman Stoddard (William Parker Stoddard), Jared R. Nussman (Kate Edwards), Jacob T. Nussman, Jeffrey S. Willis (Stephanie Callis), Nathan A Willis (Diana Villavicencio), Abigail E. Willis, Spencer E. Willis, Anthony J. McCourt, Jr. (Nidia Santos), Bryan C. McCourt (T. C. Robinson), Dustin C McCourt-deceased, Tara M. Svendsen (Michael Irwin), Karl J. Svendsen (Kaitlyn Svendsen), Welsey McCourt, Ella Rae McCourt; great-grandchildren Jack R. Nussman, Samuel L. Nussman VI, Eleanor G. Nussman, Henry S. Willis, Grace McCourt, Anthony McCourt, III, Kaya Irwin, Kaelyn Irwin, Nella Irwin, Eve Irwin, Chandler Irwin; siblings Virginia M. Rusiano, Kathleen M. Augustyn, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald H. McCourt and grandson Dustin C McCourt.  The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Sunday August 22, at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St. in Amelia. Mr. McCourt was a veteran of the Korean era having served in the U. S. Navy. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Monday August 23 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia with military honors at 1:00 pm.
