Robert Franklin Lane

Sorry to hear of Mr. Lane's passing. It had been several years since I'd seen him. I don't know why, but I just remembered when the school all chipped in an bought him a canoe! Funny remembrance.

Mrs Lane and other family members:
I am so sorry to hear of Mr Lane’s passing. Back in 1968 he gave me my first job following graduating from college and I was privileged to work with him at Amelia Academy for 2 years. He helped me to get the business department started where I taught typing, bookkeeping and general business. He was an inspiration to me as I was getting started my career. I will never forget his influence on my teaching career. Even after leaving Amelia I’ve never forgotten him and a number of others from Amelia Academy. I do hope and pray all of you will find strength, peace and comfort in Gods loving care during this time in you lives.

Mr. Lane's long career n education is indicative of his love for children and his desire to promote their learning. Such men influence lives well beyond the classroom. His reach still continues in the lives that he touched with both his words and his character. May he rest well upon the mountain.
