I just learned of Thelma's passing today and am so very sorry for you and Abbey and all the family. In times like this, it makes us mindful to treasure the moments we have with those we love. I know her passing will leave an irreplaceable void in your hearts but always be aware that she is resting in the arms of the Lord waiting for your reunion. My love goes out to all and if you need anything please don't hesitate to ask.

Several months ago, Thelma took me into her office and told me that what she thought was pneumonia was quite the opposite. No-one wants to hear the C word but Thelma took it by the horns and was ready to claim her faith in God in traveling this path with her. I clean the office where Thelma worked and she always greeted me with a smile! I cleaned a little and we talked a lot. ha. She was one of the kindest souls I had the pleasure of meeting. Her family was her world. We laughed at so many stories of her Abby who I got to meet a few times in the office. And once you meet Abby she never forgets you. I remember Thelma telling me weekly Abby would ask if I was there today to clean. Abby remembered everything Thelma had told her about my family and asked her often. Such a gift Abby had of being so attentive. I pray Abby knows what a treasure she was to Thelma. She devoted her life to her family and her career and was proud of both. I got to meet Roy one evening while the two of them were sharing dinner after one of her many doctor visits. I was so glad that they had this time together. He was so supportive and never left her side. Thelma and I were able to text and talk throughout this journey she faced and I know without a doubt that I will see her again one day. She often said she didn't understand why she needed Palliative care because she had Faith in God and that was good enough for her. We all know God can work miracles but for some reason that we may never understand He took her home before we were ready to see her go. I will miss you dearly my sweet friend! It was always so comfortable to talk to you and share the good and bad of our days together. I lost my uncle recently and one of her text to me reads "I'm sorry. I know your aunt is taking this hard but I hope she finds peace that he is with the Lord now. I'm praying for your family" HER WORDS!!!! Dear Family....consider her words to me and find peace in knowing that she is with the Lord now! I am praying for your family during this difficult time. Please call on me if there is anything I can do in the days ahead !

I am in deepest sympathy with the passing of Thelma. I worked with her in the Amelia USDA ofc from 2005 - 2009 while I was with NRCS there. I sure did enjoy and admire her kindness to others and her smile as I would joke with her, Larry, Joan, and Christy.

To Roy, Abbey and family.... It is with heartfelt sympathy we send our love and prayers to you. I worked with Thelma for many years (I worked at the Buckingham FSA Office). It was always a joy to see Thelma with her sunny smile. She always brightened my day and we enjoyed many chats together. Thelma was such a sweet person and you knew she was a true friend the first time met. I am so glad Rita and I got to share a picnic with her earlier this summer at Wilkes Lake. It was a beautiful visit and I wish we could have enjoyed more of those. She will be greatly missed by her friends, and I am blessed to have known her.
