J. Bradford Hix
Funeral Director, Owner
Jim has been a licensed funeral director since 1974. He is a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and is a graduate of the American Academy of Funeral Service. Jim is a former President of the Rotary Club of New City, New York and Past President of the Amelia Ruritan Club having serviced two terms. In addition, he is the Past President of the Central District Funeral Directors Association, Past President of the Amelia County Business Association and is active in Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Amelia.

Anthony has been a licensed funeral director since 2002. He is a graduate of Amelia Academy, Hampden Sydney College, and John Tyler Community College Mortuary Program. He is a past President of the Central District Funeral Directors' Association.

Carol M. Hix
Co-Owner
Carol has been a licensed funeral director since 1998. She is a graduate of Kean College, Montclair State College, and John Tyler Community College Mortuary Program. In addition to being a funeral director, she manages Hillsman-Hix Florist. Carol is a Past President of the Amelia Garden Club and the Amelia County Business Association She currently serves on the Board of James L. Hamner Library and is also active in Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Amelia.

Jennifer is currently enrolled in the Mortuary Program at John Tyler Community College. She is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College and Averett University. Jennifer taught high school mathematics for nine years.

Tom is currently enrolled in the Mortuary Program at John Tyler Community College. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the Navy on submarines.

Kenneth has served Hillsman-Hix for over 15 years. He and his wife Shirley are members of Arbor Baptist Church. Kenneth is a charter member of the Amelia Emergency Squad and has served with the Squad for over 43 years. He is retired from the Virginia Dept. of Transportation

His motivation to serve families honestly and ethically, while keeping their financial well being in mind led him to pursue a specialization in advance planning in 2002. In addition to assisting families with their advance planning needs he now assists funeral homes with the design and implementation of their advance planning programs.
